The Department of Public Works provides the services that touch the community everyday. Every day the quality of life for the people who live and work in Rangely, is enhanced by the activities and services provided by the Public Works

Street Maintenance activities include street patching and repair, minor asphalt overlays, asphalt milling, alley and road shoulder maintenance, roadside mowing and weed spraying. The Division provides major support for the 'Street Resurfacing' Projects.

Public works is also responsible within the town limits for winter roadway maintenance. Crews plow snow, apply de-icing and anti-icing chemicals, load and haul snow/ice from the downtown district and other confined areas, and clear designated sidewalks. During off hours and weekends, crews are dispatched upon notification from the Police Department when street conditions begin to warrant service.

The Department provides on-going design, inspection and management of all Town initiated capital projects, including but not limited to field inspections.

In addition, the Department provides engineering review of all proposed new developments in Town.
