When are accounts payable processed?

Invoices are submitted by each department. Checks are then printed approximately every 15th and 30th day of each month.
Can accounts payable checks be picked up at Town Hall?
Yes!! But only after making prior arrangements with the accounts department.
I performed a service for the Town. Are taxes withheld from my check?
You will receive a 1099-MISC at the end of year if services performed for the Town of Rangely during the calendar year are $600 or greater.

I was paid less than $600, but I still had to fill out a W-9 form. Why?

Town of Rangely requires a W-9 form for all new vendors and periodically on existing vendors, regardless of the amount paid. Filling out a W-9 form initially insures that we have correct information for 1099 reporting in the event that you are paid $600 or more throughout the year.
When do I get my utility bill?
Utility bills are mailed in the first week of each month for the prior month’s usage.
When is my utility bill due?
Utility bills are due before noon on the last business day of the month.
How can I pay my utility bill?
Payments can be made by cash, check or money order, Mastercard or Visa. Automatic payments drafted from your checking or savings account are now available as well. You are welcome to download this form or contact Town Hall and we can provide one for one. There is a drop box for utility payments on the northwest side of Town Hall in the parking lot. We also accept visa/mastercard payment by phone.

I am leasing/renting a residence in Rangely, and need to set up service. Who should I contact?

You will need to find out from your landlord who is responsible for paying the bill for supplied services. If it is your responsibility, contact the Utilities Department of the Town of Rangely offices at 209 E. Main St
What should I do when I move from a property that I am leasing?
You should notify Town Hall that you are moving out, even if you are not responsible for the services. Upon notification, we will do a final read on the meter, and you can make arrangements to pay the final bill.

Why is my bill so high?

Small leaks or running toilets can really add to your water usage. Consider some of the following things if your water usage seems high:
Check for leaky faucets or running toilets.
Did you have guests? More people = more showers, more laundry = more usage
Have you done any outside watering?
Could you have a leak in your sprinkler system?
If you answered no to all of these questions, we would be happy to come out and re-read your meter.
How can I reduce water usage?
Saving water is easy; it just requires some extra attention to your usage. Consider limiting showers to one per person per day, turning the water off while brushing your teeth, keeping a bottle of water in the refrigerator instead of letting the faucet run while the water gets cool. For a little extra money, you can install new aerators on your faucets for more efficient flow and replace existing sprinkler heads with more efficient models. And if you are considering larger purchases, look at energy-efficient appliances and water systems. The new high efficiency washing machines use almost HALF of the water as compared to the older inefficient machines.
